Altec 288-16G – Compression drivers for use with Altec Horns with 1.4" throat.
Vintage pair of Altec 288-16G drivers. These are the larger format 1.4" three bolt format drivers. These drivers are for use with any of the larger Altec horns such as the 805, 1505, 1003, etc. The 288-16G are the last of the 288 Alnico magnet drivers that used the radial phase plug. The radial phase plug is considered by most audiophiles to be much smoother and more listenable then the later Tangerine phase plugs.
These drivers have been working for the past two years without problems. They are being sold as-is because of their age.
